PLANTING SEEDS
John and Lilliana Massimo / Trent Willmon
A little while back we decided we needed a brand new start
So we moved out of the mountains, bought ourselves a little farm
Raising fresh tomatoes, and a bunch of kids and big ol patch green beans
Who’d have thought you and me would be here now…. Planting seeds
We’ve both seen our share of loss and struggle but we’re thankful for the hard times
Took livin a lot o what we didn’t want, to find what we really wanted in life
Everyday we try to be an example of what we want our kids to be
It’s a whole lot like a garden… Planting seeds
How to be strong, how to be calm, how show respect to each other and listen
How To be careful with the words we’re sewing , cuz you’re gonna get it back and then some
They’re putting down roots & growing, they’re looking up to you and me,
It’s a whole lotta work but it sure is worth it, planting seeds
Now to some it might seem outdated, it’s not what the world teaches these days
Like opening a door for a lady, or standing up for what you believe
Hard work and honesty, and trust and empathy, a little bit o’ chivalry
We hope our kids will pass on it to theirs someday, so we’re planting seeds
How to be strong, how to be calm, how show respect to each other and listen
How To be careful with the words we’re sewing , cuz you’re gonna get it back and then some
They’re putting down roots & growing, but they’re looking up to you and me,
And it’s a whole lotta work but it sure is worth it, planting these seeds
How to be strong, how to be calm, how show respect to each other and listen
How To be careful with the words we’re sewing , cuz you’re gonna get it back and then some
They’re putting down roots & growing, but they’re looking up to you and me,
And it’s a whole lotta work but it sure is worth it, planting seeds
Yeah they’re growing like weeds so it’s up to you and me, to keep on planting seeds! I’ll give you my all till the day I fall, baby planting seeds
